Lead Developer with strong Azure and .Net experience for a 100% remote 6-12 month contract position. They are seeking a strong, hands-on developer to help modernize 4–5 finance-related applications currently built on older technologies (including legacy .NET, WinForms, console apps, Excel/Office macros, VB, and Access databases—some hosted on desktop Windows servers). The goal is to consolidate and migrate these applications into Azure, upgrade them to .NET 6 or higher (preferably .NET 8/10 with latest EF Core), and improve reliability, logging, monitoring, and overall supportability to reduce IT overhead.
Top skills include hands-on Azure development (Azure Functions/Durable Functions, Azure App Service), MS SQL (database creation, optimization, consolidation in Azure), C#, .NET 6+, Blazor, Azure DevOps, strong unit testing experience with NUnit/xUnit, and experience with Excel/Office macros. The applications interact with accounting and finance systems such as Unit4 (AP/AR), banking files, payroll, insurance, and other third-party integrations. This developer will report to the Lead Architect and work alongside another senior developer, focused specifically on modernizing these finance applications (separate from the Rental/Homeownership Agile teams).
