Job Description: 
API Development Skills (Java/Spring Boot)
1. Hands-on Java/Spring Boot Development:
o Extensive hands-on experience in developing robust, high-performance back-end services using Java and Spring Boot.
o Strong practical understanding of microservices architecture, building modular, scalable, and reusable components for production-ready applications.
o Proficient in the hands-on creation and maintenance of RESTful APIs using Spring Boot, ensuring seamless integration with front-end systems and third-party services.
o Direct involvement in applying API versioning, documentation, and following best practices for API design, ensuring long-term maintainability and scalability.
2. API Security and Compliance:
o Hands-on implementation of security measures such as OAuth 2.0, JWT, and API Key management for authentication and authorization across APIs.
o Extensive experience ensuring APIs adhere to SSL/TLS encryption protocols and compliance with industry regulations like GDPR and HIPAA for secure data handling.
3. Cloud and DevOps Integration for API Development:
o Hands-on deployment of APIs in cloud environments like AWS, Google Cloud, and Cloud Foundry, ensuring high availability, scalability, and resilience.
o Practical experience in CI/CD pipeline management using tools like Jenkins, Maven, and Git for continuous testing, integration, and deployment of APIs.
4. Database Integration and Optimization:
o Experience in the hands-on integration of databases such as MySQL, Timescale DB, and Document DB with APIs, ensuring efficient data management and retrieval.
o Proficient in optimizing API performance through caching techniques, load balancing, and database interaction tuning for enhanced system responsiveness.
Apigee Skills:
1. Hands-on Apigee API Management:
o Extensive hands-on experience with Apigee API Gateway, managing API proxies, routing, and implementing traffic management features like rate-limiting, quotas, and caching to enhance performance.
o Expertise in hands-on API proxy development using Apigee Edge and Apigee Hybrid, handling transformations, traffic management, and implementing custom logic for optimized API workflows.
2. Apigee Security and Policy Management:
o Hands-on implementation of security protocols in Apigee, including OAuth 2.0, JWT, and API Key validation, ensuring secure API transactions.
o Proficient in configuring and managing Apigee policies for access control, request/response transformations, logging, and API mediation to enhance security and control.
3. Apigee Analytics and Monitoring:
o Strong experience in hands-on monitoring of APIs through Apigee Analytics, using key metrics such as latency, response times, and error rates to maintain optimal API functionality.
o Proficient in using Apigee’s trace tools for real-time debugging and performance tuning to quickly resolve issues and bottlenecks.
4. Apigee Lifecycle Management:
o Practical experience in managing the full API lifecycle on Apigee Edge, from hands-on API proxy design and testing to deployment and version management.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Hands-on API Design and Development:

o Oversee the hands-on deployment of APIs on Apigee Edge and Hybrid, ensuring seamless transitions across environments and maintaining high performance post-deployment.
3. Performance Monitoring and Optimization:
o Actively monitor and optimize API performance using Apigee Analytics and Spring Boot monitoring, ensuring metrics like latency, error rates, and throughput meet service-level agreements.
o Apply hands-on performance optimization techniques, including caching, rate-limiting, and quota management, to ensure APIs handle peak traffic efficiently.
4. Security and Compliance Management:
o Hands-on implementation of security measures using Apigee’s security tools (OAuth 2.0, JWT, API Key management) and Spring Boot’s security features to protect APIs from unauthorized access.
o Ensure ongoing compliance with data security standards, particularly in sensitive environments like GDPR and HIPAA, by enforcing secure API operations.
5. Cloud Integration and DevOps for API Management:
o Lead the hands-on deployment and management of APIs in cloud environments, utilizing Apigee for API management and ensuring integration with cloud services like AWS and Google Cloud.
o Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, deployment, and API updates, ensuring continuous delivery and system reliability.
6. Collaboration and Mentorship:
o Work closely with architects, product managers, and DevOps teams to ensure API development aligns with business goals, providing hands-on technical leadership in both Java/Spring Boot and Apigee.
