Hi, Hope you’re doing well. This is Payal from Tanisha Systems. I wanted to share a new job opportunity with you. If you are currently exploring opportunities, please feel free to reach out to me for more details. Job Title : Tech Lead .NET Location: Fort Mill, SC / New York / Austin, TX / San Diego, CA Employment : Fulltime This is a hands-on leadership role, not a coordination-only position. The ideal candidate will actively analyze and reverse-engineer legacy applications, make key architectural decisions, contribute to code development and reviews, and resolve technical challenges directly. This individual will be accountable for the platform’s technical direction, delivery outcomes, system reliability, and overall execution. Key Responsibilities : Technical Ownership * Own the technical direction, stability, and delivery of ATDB.Web and its seven supporting services, including five DIS-scheduled batch jobs, the Import Service, and the Notification Response Service. * Make and justify critical technical decisions, including build-versus-buy, remediation-versus-rebuild, and migration sequencing choices under tight timelines and governance requirements. * Serve as the highest technical escalation point before engineering leadership involvement, driving issues to resolution or clearly identifying blockers and ownership. Legacy Application Analysis (.NET Framework 3.5 / ASPX / WebForms) * Analyze and document legacy ASP.NETWebForms applications by reviewing source code, decompiled assemblies, .NET Remoting implementations, session management, configuration settings, and legacy UI components. * Validate actual system behavior and infrastructure configurations against deployment and monitoring tools rather than relying on undocumented knowledge. * Convert technical findings into clear specifications and test scenarios that can be understood and executed by QA and business stakeholders. Infrastructure Migration Execution * Lead OS and infrastructure migration activities using a low-risk, minimal-change approach that supports compliance deadlines while minimizing regression risk. * Assess on-premises and AWS hosting options by evaluating connectivity, performance, deployment compatibility, costs, and operational risks, and provide clear recommendations. * Manage the complete promotion lifecycle across all environments, coordinating infrastructure setup, network changes, DNS updates, and scheduler reconfiguration. * Develop, test, and own cutover and rollback procedures to ensure smooth production transitions. Modernization Strategy * Establish both short-term stabilization plans and long-term modernization roadmaps, clearly distinguishing required work from deferred enhancements. * Identify modernization opportunities, including API enablement, cloud-native services, application rebuilds, and AWS-based integration solutions, and convert them into a structured Jira backlog. * Incorporate technical debt, security concerns, and audit findings into the roadmap with practical prioritization and execution plans. Code Quality and Engineering Standards * Conduct comprehensive code reviews focused on maintainability, security, architectural alignment, and operational risk. * Define and enforce engineering standards across a hybrid legacy and modern technology landscape. * Manage SAST and SCA remediation efforts to prevent security and dependency issues from accumulating during migration activities. Cross-Functional Collaboration * Partner closely with Infrastructure & Operations teams to drive critical-path activities such as provisioning, networking, DataPower, DNS, and certificate management. * Work with DevSecOps teams to maintain deployment pipelines, secrets management, certificate rotation, and security scanning throughout migration efforts. * Engage Architecture, Security, and SRE teams early to reduce implementation risk and avoid late-stage issues. * Coordinate with shared-platform teams to ensure clear ownership and execution responsibilities across dependent systems. * Communicate technical plans, risks, dependencies, and timelines effectively to leadership and PMO stakeholders. Continuous Improvement * Identify opportunities for automation, consolidation, operational efficiency, and cost reduction across applications, integrations, and batch processes. * Detect overlapping initiatives across teams and proactively align ownership to prevent duplicated effort. Required Qualifications Technical Expertise * 10+ years of hands-on .NET development experience with strong expertise in .NET Framework 3.5/4.x, ASP.NET WebForms, IIS, configuration management, session-state internals, and legacy UI frameworks. * Experience with .NET Remoting or similar legacy integration technologies. * Strong SQL Server skills, including database analysis, performance optimization, and deployment automation. * Proven experience delivering infrastructure migrations, platform upgrades, or cloud transition initiatives. * Working knowledge of AWS services, networking fundamentals, connectivity models, and cost considerations. * Experience with CI/CD platforms such as Octopus Deploy, GitHub Actions, or comparable deployment tools. * Ability to analyze decompiled code and troubleshoot systems with limited documentation. Leadership and Delivery * Demonstrated ownership of legacy platforms through compliance-driven initiatives, including OS upgrades, security remediation, or audit-related programs. * Strong code review practices and sound judgment when balancing modernization goals with legacy system constraints. * Excellent written communication skills, including technical decision documents, acceptance criteria, and Jira-ready backlog creation. * Proven ability to drive infrastructure and operational dependencies to completion through active coordination and escalation. * Experience developing and presenting phased modernization strategies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Nice to Have * Experience with client style internal frameworks, WebForms-based enterprise platforms, and DIS scheduling environments. * Background in security remediation, including SQL injection, CSRF, XSS, dependency management, and SAST/SCA findings. * Experience evaluating Angular/.NET API solutions or Python-based integration and batch-processing architectures as modernization targets.
